The general vision of the Spatial Development Plan (ROP2019) is 'A sustainable design of Aruba' based on six principles.
- Creating a healthy and safe living, working, and residential environment throughout Aruba.
- The search for a balance between economic and social developments and nature and the environment.
- Applying sustainable use of space and preserving and strengthening Aruba's values, qualities, and identity.
- Identify concrete programs with measurable indicators based on the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Working well with all partners.
- Transition to a sustainable and circular economy.
In conjunction with the Spatial Development Regulation (ROPV2021) it form the basis of Aruba's Development for the upcoming five - ten years respectively.
